AC Milan president Adriano Galliani has said today that they cannot afford to sign midfielder Kaka from Real Madrid this summer and it is unlikely that striker Mario Balotelli will join them from Manchester City. Both the players have been linked with a move to the Italian giants, with Kaka being a former Milan player and Balotelli a fan of the club.
“Unfortunately Kaka will not return and the reasons are economic ones,” he said, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Mario Balotelli to Milan? I doubt it.”
Striker Marco Borriello, who loaned out to Roma last summer, will not return to San Siro either,“Roma will probably buy out Marco Borriello, while there’s absolutely no truth in talks for [Real Madrid’s] Cristiano Ronaldo or [Chelsea] Michael Essien,” confirmed Galliani.
When asked about offering new contracts to Clarence Seedorf, Andrea Pirlo, Alessandro Nesta, Filippo Inzaghi and Massimo Ambrosini, Galliani stated: “On Monday I am in a Lega Calcio meeting, so from Tuesday I’ll start speaking to the players about contract renewals.
“When a deal expires, everyone has to agree on the next course of action. We will look at the problem and see what happens.”
Milan have already won the Serie A title this season and defeated Cagliari 4-1 at San Siro in the league on Saturday evening.
