34 people were killed 100 injured when two explosions rocked Peshawar late Saturday night.
A senior police official Dost Mohammed says a small blast went off just after midnight Sunday that drew rescue workers and police to the site.
A few minutes later a large explosion rocked the area, causing the 34 fatalities and injuring 100 people. Mohammed says initial reports suggest the second blast was caused by explosives placed in a vehicle and detonated by remote control. The source of the first explosion is still unknown.
The attack took place across the street from the offices of the top political agent to Khyber, part of Pakistan s volatile tribal region. Housing for army soldiers is also nearby.
