Sky high water spout witnessed in China…..

Water spout spectacle occurs in Songyuan county, in northeast China's Jilin Province.

The water of Songhua River was absorbed highly into clouds, forming a huge spout column of water about hundreds of meters high. The spectacles lasted about ten minutes.

"It is my first time I have seen it (water spout). There is something like a spiral at bottom and it is really scaring," says a local woman. And she added that the spout was like a piece of thread, and it then turn this thick before it vanished slowly later on.

It has been learned that water spout is also called "Dragon Soaking up Water", a tornado occasionally appeared over the warm water surface.

It connects with the thunderstorm clouds over head, and directly extends to the water surface at bottom, and it revolved to form the "Dragon Soaking up Water". When it is revolving, it produces whirls and further turned into whirlpools centered on the axis of the tornado. Then, "the Dragon Soaking up Water" is formed.
