16 people killed in NATO air strikes in Libya today….

US, rebels have rejected Muammar Gaddafi’s offer to hold elections in Libya.

 A spokesman of the rebels said that 16 people were injured in the NATO airstrikes in village Amreer Gabes, 30 kilometre away from Ajdabiyah.

NATO warplanes are seen again in a bombing raid on the Libyan capital Tripoli on Friday.

The air strike was made on Tripoli, soon after Western and Arab powers promised more than $1 billion to help Libyan rebels fighting to end Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi s four-decade rule. Libyan state media said NATO warplanes had also pummelled a town west of Tripoli.

LIBYA READY FOR CEASEFIRE .........

 Libya said on Thursday it was ready for a ceasefire and negotiations with rebels who hold the east of the country but demanded it include an immediate halt to Nato airstrikes.
The proposal by Prime Minister Al-Baghdadi Ali Al-Mahmoudi, who said it mirrored a plan floated by the African Union, one of Tripoli's few allies, for resolving the conflict, came on the heels peace overtures to Spain and other foreign countries.

Nato strikes hit eight Gaddafi warships in ports.....

Nato air strikes have hit eight warships belonging to Col Muammar Gaddafi's forces in co-ordinated raids on Tripoli, Al Khums and Sirte.

Spokesman said Nato had to take "decisive action" given Col Gaddafi's increasing use of naval assets to launch attacks on civilians. Flames and smoke could be seen rising from vessels hit in the capital's port.

Seven Libyan rebels killed....

At least seven Libyan rebels are reported to be dead in fighting against state forces in Misrata.

 International media reported that at least seven people were reported killed in fighting between rebels and forces loyal to Muammar Qaddafi in Misrata, which is controlled by the rebels.

The media quoted a doctor at a hospital in Misrata as saying that most of the casualties were rebel fighters killed in battles on the western and eastern edges of the city.
