Strauss-Kahn was arrested by New York Police and was being questioned by the NYPD special victims Unit. No charges have yet been filed against him.

According to sources, Strauss-Kahn was staying at a Times Square hotel in New York. When a hotel maid came to clean the room, Strauss-Kahn, who was taking a bath, jumped out of the bathroom naked and sexually attacked the maid.
The 32-year-old maid managed to escape and told the hotel staff. By the time the police arrived, Strauss-Kahn had left the hotel leaving behind his belongings and mobile phone.
The New York police discovered he was at the airport when and they contacted the Authorities, who arrested Strauss-Kahn from the first class cabin of an Air France flight that was minutes away from departing to Paris.
