NATO warplanes are seen again in a bombing raid on the Libyan capital Tripoli on Friday.
The air strike was made on Tripoli, soon after Western and Arab powers promised more than $1 billion to help Libyan rebels fighting to end Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi s four-decade rule. Libyan state media said NATO warplanes had also pummelled a town west of Tripoli.
The Libyan authorities said that several civilian casualties in NATO air raids while NATO is claiming that the air raids were being conducted to protect Libyans from the forces of Qaddafi.
Libyan state television reported that the NATO-led military alliance had hit civilian and military targets in the town of Zuwarah, 120 km west of Tripoli.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said that Gaddafi’s time was over. Meanwhile, NATO has extended its Libyan mission for 90 days.
